Description Of 5S: Sorting | Straightening | Systematic Cleaning | Standardizing | Sustaining

5S is the modern methodology for arranging your daily work in a fair way. It teaches to arrange all the materials in a schedule way for comfort. It makes easy the searching methods. It helps to teach discipline. Discipline can help to the success in life.

Here, I have described about 5S in details in point. They are-

Sorting (Seiri): Sorting is done for choosing necessary items for storing. Sorting is done as follow:

  • It needs to eliminate all unnecessary tools, parts, and instructions.
  • By sorting man keeps only essential items and eliminate what is not required
  • Sorting prioritizing things per requirements and keeping them in easily-accessible places.
  • Everything else is stored or discarded.

Straightening or setting in order / stabilize (Seiton): After sorting, straightening is done for keeping things in right place. Straightening is done as follow:

  • Straightening indicates that, there should be a place for everything and everything should be in its place.
  • The place for each item should be clearly labelled or demarcated in a sound manner.
  • Items should be arranged in a manner that promotes efficient work flow, with equipment used most often being the most easily accessible.

Shining or systematic cleaning (Seiso): Systematic cleaning is done for clean the unwanted things from the work place. Shining is done as follow:

  • Shining is done to clean the workspace and all equipment, and keep it clean, tidy and organized.
  • Shining is done at the end of each shift, clean the work area and be sure everything is restored to its place.
  • Maintaining cleanliness should be part of the daily work – not an occasional activity initiated when things get too messy.

Standardizing (Seiketsu): There should be a standard for doing the work. Standardizing is done as follow:

  • All work stations for a particular job should be identical.
  • All employees doing the same job should be able to work in any station with the same tools that are in the same location in every station.
  • Everyone should know exactly what his or her responsibilities are for adhering to the first 3 S’s.

Sustaining the discipline or self-discipline (Shitsuke): Sustaining is done for keep the manner for the long way.

  • Sustaining is required for further continuity. 5S is a habit and is continually improved.
  • Maintain and review standards.
  • Maintain focus on this new way and do not allow a gradual decline back to the old ways.
  • While thinking about the new way, also be thinking about yet better ways.

So, there are lots of ways for improving your every work day. Manager should follow the modern methods for keeping improvement in daily life. Success will be come in its own way. We should try for better.

Stress Management || Causes of Stress || Way Of Stress Management

Stress is a common problem of human being. Man suffers from different types of stress in his daily life. When one man feels stress about any think then it needs to relief that’s stress. Stress management is the way by which one can manage his stress by a proper manner. Stress of different stage is different depending on the condition of the surroundings. Stress is everywhere, but one should control this by his own way. Everyman’s stress does not follow the methods for remove stress. So, one should try his common way for relief from stress.

Stress management teaches to balance own self and reduces thinking. Stress management teaches a person how to reduce stress, prevent and cope with stress.

Causes of Stress:

  • Stress at work: To reduce and manage job and work.
  • Job loss and unemployment Stress: For staying positive during your job search.
  • Caregiver stress and burnout: For recharging and finding balance.
  • Stress symptoms, Signs and cause: The effect of stress overload and what you can do about it.

Way of stress Management: There are lots of ways by which one can manage the stress. Here I have point out the most common points of stress management. They are-

Other ways to reduce, Prevent and cope with stress: Stress Management should be done by healthy way. Here, I have written some points which are not healthy way to control stress. But most of the time man practices this. They are-

  1. Unhealthy Ways
  2. Smoking
  3. Drinking too much.
  4. Overeating or under eating.
  5. Zoning out for hours in front of the TV or computer.
  6. Withdrawing from friends, family and activities.
  7. Using pills or drugs to relax.
  8. Sleeping too much.
  9. Filling up every minute of the day to avoid facing problems.
  10. Taking out your stress on others (angry outbursts, physical violence).

So, follow the healthier way to reduce stress. Follow the stress management techniques for reduce stress.

Team Spirit || Importance & Characteristics Of Team Spirit

Team spirit is the key to success. Team spirit plays an important role both in personal and professional life. When peoples get together for achieving a common goal and common attitude shows during work that is called team spirit. A proverb is established like that, “Coming together is a beginning. Keeping together is progress. Working together is success-Henry Ford”. So, team spirit highlights the importance in work together.

  • Team spirit is willingness to cooperate as part of a team.
  • Team spirit makes the members want the group to succeed.
  • Team spirit- Starts with, ends with.
  • An improved team spirit can enjoy a successful start & finish.

Team spirit helps to get successful results in a reasonable time frame than individual spirit.

Importance of team spirit: Team spirit is essential for better bonding among employees and getting better output. Here, I have listed some importance of team spirit. They are-

  • All team members are responsible for getting success of a work.
  • Team spirit has a faster pace than an individual work.
  • Cultivating team spirit helps improve the chemistry of a group and increase the probability of success.
  • Features – Multiple characteristics, unity, positive reinforcement, focus and sense of urgency in obtaining a specific goal.
  • Misconceptions – Without team spirit & visible support no achievement can happen.
  • Benefits – Team spirit improves the ability of individuals to work together and boosts morale.

Characteristics of Team Spirit: Some characteristics of team spirit are given below:

Sense of Purpose: Team spirit is essential to achieve a clear, specific goal need sense of purpose.

Competency: All teams should consist of members who are capable of contributing to the achievement of the goal.

Cooperative Spirit: All members need to work together to achieve the specific goal.

Playing by the Rules: Team should also have a set of rules that determines its operating procedures.

Accountability: Team must ultimately be held accountable as a whole for their failure as well as their success.

Most of the time, the members of a team tries to gives his best efforts. Moreover, a healthy competition grows among the employees. It also improves the relation between the members of the team. By working together, the members of the team can learn different items from each other. So, there are lots of benefits to work in a team. Let’s do like this.
