Computer Color Matching System
I have written about the working principle of computer color matching systems in one of my blogs. Now I like to write about the functions of a computer color matching system (CCMS). All we know is that CCMS is the system by which we can predict the shade of a sample and run bulk production. Although it is a computerized system, its accuracy is fine.
Functions Of Computer Color Matching System (CCMS)
There are lots of tasks that could be done by a computer color matching system. I like to mention most of the functions of CCMS below:
Prediction of the color match:
The main function of CCMS is to predict the color of a sample. In the lab dip section, it is necessary to match the shade of the sample. CCMS makes it easy to match the shade quickly. It also makes the work of a textile engineer who is responsible for it easier.
Color difference calculation:
We know that when a sample is put in the sample holder of a spectrophotometer, it analyzes the color of the sample. It also calculates the color difference between the sample and the dyed sample, which is dyed according to the recipe of the CCMS.
Metamerism:
CCMS also shows the metamerism of the sample color.
Pass-and-fail option:
The sample, which is dyed according to the recipe of the CCMS, matches the buyer’s sample that could be calculated by this system. If the dyed sample fulfills the requirements, then CCMS gives a pass, and if it can’t, then it gives a fail. So, pass-fail can be decided by CCMS.
Colorfastness rating:
Colorfastness can be calculated by CCMS. There is a different colorfastness rating (1-5/1-8). CCMS analyzes the color fastness and gives a result.
Shade library:
A computer color matching system also stores the recipe for dyeing a specific shade. This shade library helps to find out the different documents against that shade. It is done both for the shade of the sample and for the for the bulk dyed sample.
Cost Comparison:
The cost of the produced sample can be compared with others. It also helps to choose the right dyes for dyeing.
Dyes strength evaluation:
It is important to evaluate the strength of the dyes that will be used for production. However, all of the dyes do not have the same strength. Dye strength effects the concentration of dyes that will be used for dyeing.
Whiteness Indices:
Whiteness Indices are also maintained in CCMS.
Reflectance curve:
A reflectance curve is also formed for a specific shade, from which we can determine the reflection capability of that shade.
Color strength:
The computer color matching system also determines the color strength of the sample.
So, there are lots of objectives for computer color matching systems. If you want, you can try to get the benefits of CCMS.
