Textile Vocational Institute
The textile industry is rapidly growing up in Bangladesh. To fulfill the demand for present technical hands in the textile sector government takes different initiatives. At present 41 textile vocational institutes are run by the Department of Textiles under the Ministry of Textiles and Jute. Although administrative activities are demonstrated by the Department of Textiles Bangladesh Technical Education Board (BTEB) under the Ministry of Education is responsible to control and monitoring the academic activities of the textile institute.
Superintendent is the head of the institute and is appointed by the Department of Textiles. Superintendents and other staff belonging to TVI are doing their job by following the instructions given by the Department of Textiles and BTEB. However, a student, who passed class eight or passed JSC/equivalent exam can be eligible to apply to TVI. Students can choose different trades like dressmaking, dyeing printing, and finishing, weaving, knitting during their academic calendar.

The government of Bangladesh gives emphasis on technical education as a result lots of technical institutes like textile vocational institutes are established in different parts of the country. However, the textile sector is the prime foreign currency earning sector and this sector needs lots of technical personnel to operate this sector. The students should take the opportunity to be textile professionals for the demand of the present demand. Here, I like to share the list of the textile vocational institutes under the Department of Textiles (DOT) in Bangladesh. TVI is located in different parts of the country. They are:
Dhaka Division:
In the Dhaka division, the number of TVIs is 13.

In sum, students can choose any one TVI for their admission. After passing TVI one can get admission in class 11 for HSC/Textile Institute for a diploma.
