What is knitting?
Knitting is markedly done by a set of connected loops from a series of yarns in a warp or weft direction. When knitted fabrics are divided into two main types. They are-
- Warp knitting
- Weft knitting
What is warp knitting?
In a warp-knitted structure, each loop in the horizontal direction is made from a different thread. Therefore, the sweater is made using this warp knitting technique.
What is weft knitting?
Significantly, a horizontal row of loops can be made using one thread, and the thread runs in the horizontal direction in a weft knitted structure. Most knitted fabrics are produced by weft knitting.
Differences between Warp Knitting and Weft Knitting
Basically, warp and weft knitting processes are totally different from one another. Following are the differences between warp and weft knitting.

| Creating fabric by this method is suitable to dry washing. | Hand wash is suitable for weft knitting. |
| Any design is done easily. | All types of designs are complex. |
| It is especially suitable for producing coarse fabric. | It is suitable for producing thin fabric. |
Above all are the most common differences between warp knitting and weft knitting. Moreover, these two knitting techniques are used to make different types of knitted fabrics. Presently, different knitting machine manufacturers are trying to add some new features to the knitting machine. In fact, knitting technology becomes popular with knit fabrics manufacturers for its growing demand in the world clothing market. However, world-famous clothing brands marketed different knitted fabrics. The fabric designer also trying their best to invent a different attractive designs. Furthermore, they are focusing on comfort and a cozy looking. Different loungewear is also made of knitted fabrics.
