Projectile Loom || Different Parts Of A Projectile Weaving Machine

Projectile loom is a shuttle less loom. It is used widely in fabric production. By this projectile loom, filling of yarn is done by using a small metal device resembling a bullet in appearance with clamp for gripping the yarn at one end, which is then propelled into and through the shed. In this projectile loom machine, the weft insertion is carried out by a small clamp projectiles, which number is depends on the weaving fabric width and which with their grippers take out the weft yarn from big cross wound bobbins and insert into the shed and always in the same direction. Projectile loom has a high speed production tan the rapier loom.

Different Parts Of A Projectile Weaving Machine: Projectile loom is consist of different parts which facilities the weaving process. To make smooth the process one should know about the different parts of projectile weaving machine. Here, I have mentioned the different parts of projectile loom. They are-

  2. Picking shaft
  3. Picking shoe
  4. Picking lever
  5. Picking shaft lever
  6. Toggle plates

  8. Oil break.

The engineer must have knowledge about the functions of different parts of projectile loom. I will write about the working mechanism of projectile loom in the next.

So, buy projectile loom and set for getting higher production. Different machine manufacturers made projectile looms for fulfill the present demand of projectile loom.

Rapier Loom || Working Procedure Of Rapier Loom || Advantages Of A Rapier Loom

In weaving, different types of looms are used for producing fabric from the weavers beam. Rapier loom is a popular shuttle loom for producing different types of designed fabric. In most of the denim industry, rapier looms are used hugely. Rapier loom carries the filling yarn through the shade of warp yarns to the other side of the loom by finger like carriers called rapier. A stationary package of yarn is used for supply the weft yarn in the rapier loom.

Working Procedure Of Rapier Loom: There are two types of rapier loom. One types of rapier loom consist a rapier in one end. A rapier is a rod or steel tape which carries the weft yarn. In the other end, the rapier connected to the control system. The rapier moves through the warp yarn by carrying weft yarn from one end to other. The rapier is then retracted, leaving the new filling in the place.

Other types of rapier also available, in which the rapier carries the weft yarn to the centre and the other rapier from the opposite side carries the weft yarn from the centre. There are two types of rapier loom. One is flexible and other is rigid rapier loom. The rigid loom takes more space than rigid loom. Flexible rapier can be coiled, if it is too flexible than it will buckle. The double rapier is used more frequently than single rapier. A rapier machines can be operate at speeds up to 1300 meters of weft per minute. This type of rapier is efficient. The noise level is high because it speeds about 200 to 260 ppm.

Advantages of a Rapier Loom: Rapier loom is a shuttle less power loom. It weaves more rapidly than other types of shuttle loom. On the other hand, weaving efficiency of rapier loom is less than projectile machine. An important advantage of rapier loom is that, it can be flexible which perm it’s the laying of picks of different colors. It is noticeable that, it can weave fabric up to 110 inches in width without any modifications.

Rapier machine is running in its own way.

Shuttle Loom Parts || Functions Of Different Shuttle Loom Parts

Weaving is done by the loom. This loom has different Varity. Among all of them shuttle loom is the most common loom used in the industry. It is very important to know, how much parts have in a loom. Loom helps to produce fabric from the weavers beam to cloth. Shuttle loom is the conventional loom types. Shuttle loom has low production rate with prior to the other modern looms.
Functions of Different Shuttle Loom Parts: Here, I have listed the different parts of shuttle looms. They are-
Shuttle: In a shuttle loom, it is the reason for such naming. Shuttle carries out the weft yarn through the divided warp for the interlacement between warp and weft yarn.
Shuttle Box: A shuttle loom contains two shuttle boxes in the two end points of the slay. It helps to retain the shuttle to the shed by picking motion.
Picker: It is the pushing material of shuttle. Picker is placed in grooves or on a spindle in the shuttle box.
Warp Beam: Warp beam is the collection of desired number of warp threads in the beam. From this beam, desired warp thread is permit to go through the healds. It is a cylindrical body with end flanges on both ends.
Front Rest: It used as a guide for the cloth to wind on to the cloth beam. It is a fixed roller placed in front of loom above the cloth roller.
Lease Rods: Lease rods are used for divide warp thread in to one and one, two and two or so on. The two rods passed through between two successive divisions of warp yarns.
Heddle/Heald: Heald contains cord or wire with eyelet for holding warp yarns in a place. It helps in shed formation. It helps to identify broken ends. It determines the order of the warp threads. Warp thread density in a fabric could be determined by his parts of loom.
Harness/Heald Shaft: Heald shaft is a wood or metal frame that holds the heald or heddles in position in the loom during weaving. Heald shaft is usually more than one.
Slay: Slay is the loom portion which facilities the shuttle to run through the shed of the warp yarns. It contains reed which is important for weaving. It also oscillates between the harness of the cloth.
Reed: Reed contains comb like wire or device which is used for separating yarns on a loom and to beat up the filling during weaving. Each gap between two wear is called dent.
Temple: Roller device on a loom which hold the cloth at a proper width to prevent it from being drawn in too much by the filling.
Treadle: Treadle is a paddle or lever under the loom.

So, that’s all about the different parts of a shuttle looms and their functions.
